    Our Photo Gallery is a great place to share your aviation photographs or images with other NYAviator readers.

 

    To be included in our Gallery, the photographs should show:

•     Aircraft based in NY

•     Aircraft seen at a NY aviation event or displayed in a NY aviation museum

•     Aircraft manufactured in NY

•     Aircraft or other aviation related subject with a New York connection

    Submit your photographs via e-mail to:  submissions@NYAviator.com

 

    Recommended size: 640x480

 

    Please include following information with your photos:

•     Aircraft name/type

•     Where based (airport name or identifier) or where seen

•     Who took or is submitting the photograph

 

Feature Articles:

 

Who can submit a feature article?

    Anyone is welcome to submit a feature article to NYAviator. Our only requirement is that the article must be aviation-related and have a relevant connection to the state of New York.

 

    A feature article should fit into one of the following categories:

• Pioneers (the earliest aviators, trailblazers)
• Innovators (manufacturers, producers)
• People
• Places
• Aircraft
• Events

 

How should I write my feature article?

 

    Your feature article should be original (in your own words) and not borrowed or copied word for word from books or web pages. If using books or web pages as sources of research and information, please include a list of these sources at the end of the article.

 

    Text and images (photographs, drawings, or artwork) appearing in books, magazines, and even the internet may be protected by copyright. It is the policy of NYAviator to respect all copyrighted materials.

 

    Copyrighted articles and images may be used or reproduced with permission from the original owner or publisher. If you ask and receive permission to use copyrighted text or images, please identify the source of the material or the permission grantor.

When the feature is published on NYAviator, photo credit will be given to the original source or the permission grantor.

 

    Our preference is for text to be supplied electronically. The most common format is a Microsoft Word file (filename.doc). We will also accept .pdf files and if necessary, hardcopy documents sent via U.S. Mail.

 

 

Can I send original photographs or digital images?

 

    NYAviator has the capability to digitally scan original photographic prints (up to 8”x10”) for use in feature articles. If you send original photographs with your article, we will scan and return them safely to you. However, we can not be held responsible for damage to these items that may occur during postal transit. Electronic images should be sent attached to an email. They should ideally be in .jpg format (we can accept other formats). Our preferred size is 640 x 480 pixels. Articles featuring many photographs or high resolution photographs should be submitted in a compressed (.zip) file.

    Remember - use of copyrighted images are subject to the requirements identified in the previous section above.

 

 

Can I use my article and/or images elsewhere after I have submitted them to NYAviator?

 

    NYAviator does not assume ownership, nor restrict the use of your article or images when you send them to us. By submitting your article to NYAviator, you are simply giving us permission to publish your words and images on our website and retain them in our archive for future readers. You are free to submit your articles to other periodicals for publication consideration.

 

 

How does NYAviator select which feature articles to publish?

 

    NYAviator values the contributions of submitters and will strive to eventually publish all submissions. Feature articles given a publishing priority are those that best meet the following criteria:

•     Likely interest to NYAviator visitors and the aviation community
•     Uniqueness of the submission and its relevance to New York aviation
•     Quality of photographs, drawings, or artwork
•     The number of submissions that are already in the queue for that category
•     Whether the submission has already appeared on other sites

 

Will I be contacted if my submission is selected?

 

    Unfortunately, due to the limited time available (we have families, daytime jobs, and even like to go flying now and then), it is not always possible to respond to each person - but we will do our best!

 

 

Does NYAviator pay for articles?

 

    NYAviator is a volunteer effort dedicated to promoting aviation and the education of viewers of New York's significant aviation historical legacy. NYAviator does not pay for articles at this time.
